ECO-PROWINE in the international congress “SUSTAINABLE VITICULTURE AND WINE PRODUCTION”:Steps ahead toward a global and local cross-fertilization, 12-13.11.2013 Fiera Milano (Rho), Italy

Gianni Trioli (VINIDEA) and David Zambrana (CIRCE) have participated as members of the “Stakeholder Discussion Group”, representing the ECO-PROWINE project with two posters, in the international congress “SUSTAINABLE VITICULTURE AND WINE PRODUCTION: Steps ahead toward a global and local cross-fertilization”, organized by UnioneItalianaVini, which took place in theFiera Milano (Rho),Italy, on 12th -13th of November 2013, within the 25th Edition of the SIMEI InternationalOenological and Bottling Equipment Exhibition. Also, the international Scientific Committee supervising the Congress was chaired by Prof. Ettore Capri (UCSC) who was also providing scientific support for the organization of the event.

The International Congress has been attended by several producers, processors and academics from the main wine sector in Europe, North America, Southern African continent and Australia. Additionally, high level European policy makers have participated in two day debate on sustainability. As a result the policy paper "Vision on the sustainable future of our wine and vineyards" was developed. This paper establishes guidelines towards a common understanding of the practices and measures adopted in sustainable wine production.
